ኣብ ኤርትራ ብገበርቲ ሰናይ ዝተለገሰ መድሃኒት ብሰንኪ ኣብ ግዜኡ ኣብ መዓላ ዘይምውዓሉ ከም ዝበላሾ ነቲ ኩነታት ዝተኸታተሉ ወገናት ሓቢሮም። በቲ ሓበሬታ መሰረት ሓደ ጀርመናዊ ገባር ሰናይ ማሕበር ኣብ ኤርትራ ዘሎ ዋሕዲ መድሃኒት ኣብ ምቅላል ክሕግዝ ዘውፈዮ 60 ሺሕ ዩሮ ዝዋግኡ መድሃኒት ካብ ጀርመን ብኮንተነራት ተጓዒዙ ኣብ ወደባዊት ከተም ምጽዋዕ ምስ በጽሕ ዝግደሰሉ ስኢኑ ኣብ ኣገልግሎት ከይወዓለ ነዊሕ ግዜ ከም ዝጸንሐ እቶም ምንጭታት ሓቢሮም።

እዚ መድሃኒት ብሰንኪ ጸሓይን ንፋስን ካብ ኣገልግሎት ወጻኢ ምስኮነ፡ ናብ ከተማ ኣስመራ ከም ዝተጓዕዘ እዞም ምጭታት ገሊጾም። እቶም ምንጭታት፡ ገበርቲ ሰናይ ጀርመናውያን ብተግባራት ጉጅለ ህግደፍ ከም ዝተቖጥዑ ብምጥቃስ ብ21 ጉንበት 2017 ኣብ ጋዜጣ ዝጸሓፍዎ ኣንቢቦም ከም ዝገለጽዎ እዚ ብገበርቲ ሰናይ ዝተለገሰ መድሃኒት ኣብዚ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ብንኪ ዋሕዲ መድሃኒትን ስእነት ሕክምናን ዝሳቐየሉ ዘሎ ግዜ ከምዚ ዓይነት ዘይተገዳስነት ምግጣሙ ጉጅለ ህግደፍ ብህዝቢ ዘሽካዕልል ምዃኑ ዘመልክት መረጋገጺ እዩ።

ቅድሚ ሕጂ እውን ብሕማም ዝሳቐዩ ኤርትራውያን መድሃኒት ጥራይ ዘይኮነ፡ ኣብ ግዜ መጥባሕቲ ሓይሊ መብራህቲ ስለ ዘይርከብ ብግሎም ጀነሬተር ከቕርቡ ኣብ ዝግደድሉ ሃለዋት ምህላዎም ምጥቃስና ዝዝከር እዩ።

Chairman of the Eritrean People's Democratic Party (EPDP), Mr. Menghesteab Asmerom, and EPDP Chair Office Representative for North America, Mr. Gherezghiher Tewelde, on 15 July 2017 conducted an open public meeting on Eritrean issues  in the Canadian city of Winnipeg. The event was unique of its kind due to the fact no such high-level delegation from the Eritrean opposition camp ever organized such a meeting in far-away central Canada.   

EPDP Winnipeg Branch Chairman, Mr. Naizghi Bahlai, introduced the speakers by  giving brief background notes about their active life-time devotion at all phases of  the Eritrean people's cause for national liberation and, nowadays, for democratic change.

Following the introductory remarks, Mr. Menghesteab Asmerom explained in great detail the political mission and vision of the EPDP and pointed out some of the satisfactory performances of his party in the uphill struggle of the Eritrean people from exile.

At his 5th public meeting so far in North  America, the EPDP Chairman noted that the party continues without fail to raise public awareness on the urgency of everybody's

participation in the struggle to remove a repressive regime and replace it by a democratic system of governance.  Besides encouraging open discourse among Eritreans, the party also strives to create wider awareness of the Eritrean situation among world governments and organizations. He added that EPDP's active involvement among the 50 parties in the Progressive Alliance and its contacts with governments and international organizations are helpful in the  current Eritrean struggle.

The EPDP Chairman also talked about the commendable public mobilization and outreach by branches and zonal groupings of the party in all the five continents.  Likewise, he mentioned some of the vital social services rendered to refugee children and veterans of the struggle by party members working in close cooperation with other benefactors in several parts of the world.

This was followed by an explanation of the 4 June 2017 EPDP proposal for joint work with other organizations in the opposition camp as was presented in his previous public meetings called in the Bay Area of California, in San Diego, in Chicago and in Seattle.

Messrs. Menghesteab Asmerom and Gherezghiher Tewelde jointly took part in responding to questions and comments raised by discussants in the meeting.

It is to be noted that two days earlier on 13 July, both the EPDP Chairman and his representative in North America, also held discussions with interested compatriots in Saskatoon on vital issues affecting Eritrea and its people today.   

ላዕለዎት ሓለፍቲ ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ኣቶ ወልደየሱስ ዓማር ሓላፊ ቤት ጽሕፈት ኣህጉራዊ ጉዳያትን ኣቶ ረዘነ ተስፋጼን ሓላፊ ቤት ጽሕፈት ገንዘባዊ ጉዳያትን ብ16 ሓምለ 2017 ንኣባላት ሰልፊ ነዊሕ ሰዓታት ዝወሰደ ኣስተምህሮ ሂቦም። እዞም ኣባላት መሪሕነት ኣስተምህሮ ዝሃብሉ ዛዕባታት ንመጻኢ ዕማም ምሕዳስ ሰልፊ ዝእምቱ ኮይኖም፡ ቅድሚ ሕጂ ብመሪሕነት ተጸኒዖም ዝተዳለዉ “ዲሞክራሲ፡ ግዝኣተ-ሕግን ትካላዊ ኣሰራርሓን ኣብ ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራን፡ ኣብ ተሓድሶ ሰልፊ እንታይ ክንገብር ንደልን ንኽእልን?” ዝብሉ ክልተ ሰነዳት እዮም።

ኣብቲ ቀዳማይ ንወሳንነት፡ ዲሞክራሲ፡ ግዝኣተ-ሕግን ትካላዊ ኣሰራርሓን ኣትሪሩ ዘዕዝዝ ጽሑፍ ብሓው ረዘነ ተስፋጼን፡ ድሕሪ መእተዊ ዝኾኖ ተዛማዲ ሓሳብ ምቕራብ  1. ፖሊቲካዊ ፕሮግራምን ቅዋምን ሰዲህኤ፡ 2. ሰዲህኤን ሕቶ ዲሞክራስን፡   3. ዲሞክራስን ዲሞክራስያዊ መሰልን፡ 4. ልዕልና ግዝኣተ ብዙሓትን  መሰል ውሑዳትን፡  5፡ ዘይፍጹምነት ዲሞክራስን  ጉዳይ ሓርነት ደቂ ሰባትን ኣብ ዝብሉ ንኡሳን ኣርእስታት ሰፊሕ መብርሂ ሂቡ።

ኣቶ ወልደየሱስ ዓማር ብወገኑ ነቲ “ኣብ ተሓድሶ ሰልፊ እንታይ ክንገብር ንደልን ንኽእልን?” ዝብል ጽሑፍ ብዝርዝር ኣቕሪቡ። ንሱ ኣብዚ ዘለናዮ ዘመን ንኣድላይነት ውዳበን ኣተገባብርኡን ምስ ኣብረሀ፡ ብፍላይ ከኣ፡ 1፡ ትርጉም ተሓድሶ ፖለቲካዊ ሰልፊ፡ 2፡ ንዕብየት ሰልፍናን ተቓውሞ ኤርትራን ዝብድህ ዘሎ ጸገማት፣ 3፡ ንኽንህሉን ከነድምዕን ኣብ ውሽጢ ሰልፍና እንታይ ለውጢ ንግበር? መዓስከ?፡ 4፡ ድኹምካብ  ክበሃል ዝከኣል ጐድንታት ሰዲህኤ፣ 5፡ ኣብ መወዳእታ ከኣ እሞ እንታይ ይገብር? ኣብ ዝብሉ ንኡሳት ኣርእስትታት ብኣብነትን ግብራዊ  ተመኩሮን ኣሰንዩ ኣብሪሁ።

ድሕሪ እዚ መድረኽ ንተሳተፍቲ ክፉት ምስ ኮነ፡ ተሳተፍቲ፡ እቲ ኣቀራርባ ንጹር እቲ ዛዕባ ድማ ዝርድእዎን ኣብ ክሊ እቲ ዝፈልጥዎ፡ ባዕላቶም ዘጽደቕዎን ንምትግባሩ ዝቃለስሉ ዘለዉን መትከላትን ትካላዊ ኣሰራርሓን ዝተሰረተ ስለ ዝነበረ፡ ኣብ ሕቶን መልስን እምብዛ ግዜ ኣይወሰዱን። ብኣንጻሩ ነቲ ዕድል ኣብዚ ንርከበሉ ዘለና ውሽጣውን ግዳማውን ኩነታት ምእንቲ ምዕዋት ሰልፍን ድሕነት ሕጊ፡ ትካላዊ ኣሰራርሓን ቅዋምን ክግበር ዝግበኦ ሓሳባት ኣብ ምቕራብ እዮም ኣተኲሮም። እቲ ብተሳተፍቲ ኣኼባ ዝቐርብ ዝነበረ መርኣያ ድልውነትን ቅሩብነትን ከኣ “ብዘይትካላውን ቅዋማውን ኣሰራርሓ” ዝዕወት ቃልሲ ከም ዘየለ ብምንጻር፡ ምእንታኡ ሎሚ እውን ከም ቀደም ኣብ መስርሕ ዘጋጥሙና ዕንቅፋታት እንዳኣለዩን ድኽመታት እንዳኣረሙን ዋጋ ክኸፍሉ ድልዋት ምዃኖም ዘነጽር እዩ። ብዙሓት ካብ ተሳተፍቲ ከኣ ቅንዕናን ኣድማዕነትን ቃልሲ ካብ ዝግለጸሉ መምዘንታት ሓደ ኣብ ምኽባርን ዘይምኽባርን ሕጊን ቅዋምን ዝምክሮስ ስለ ዝኾነን ናይ ኩሉ ቅድሚ ሕጂ ሓድነትን ምፍልላይን መንቀሊ ከኣ እዚ ምንባሩን ምህላዉን ኣስሚረምሉ። ኣተሓሒዞም ቅዋምን ሕግን ናይቶም ብኣኡ ዝጭርሑ ዘይኮነስ ናይቶም ብኣኡ ዝግዝኡ ምዃኑ ብትሪ ገሊጾም።

ብዘይካዚ ተሳተፍቲ ኣኼባ መሪሕነት ሰልፊ ኣብ መጻኢ መደባቱ ኣብ ግምት ከእትዎም ዝበልዎም ሓሳባት ኣቕሪቦም። ኣስተምህሮ ዝሃቡ ሓለፍቲ ብወገኖም ነቲ ኣጸቡቑ ዘይነጸረ ዝነበረ ሓሳባት ከነጽሩ ድሕሪ ምጽናሕ፡ ቀንዲ ዕላማ ናይቲ ኣኼባ ከምኡ ምንባሩ ብምጥቃስ፡ መሪሕነት ብተሳተፍቲ ንዝቐረቡ ሓሳባት መጻኢ መደባቱ ክሕንጽጽ እንከሎ ኣብ ግምት ከእትዎም ምዃኑ ኣረጋጊጾም።

Mr. Menghesteab Asmerom, Chairman of the Eritrean People's Democratic Party (EPDP), who is in six-week duty tour to the United States and Canada, held a teleconference meeting with members across North America on Sunday, 9 July,  and updated them on the main issues discussed at the Seattle public meeting of the previous day as well as on the internal situation of the party

The EPDP Chairman seized the opportunity to clarify in great detail the latest developments within the North America branches and announced the designation of a nine-person preparatory committee for the extraordinary congress called for the region.

On its party, the preparatory committee held its first meeting on 10 July  and organized itself in three action sub-committees as follows:

1)      Sub-Committee for  organization and mobilization;

2)      Sub-Committee for information and diplomacy/public relations;

3)      Sub-Committee for social and financial issues. 

The sub-committees are reportedly starting to implement their specific duties with the urgency and dedication required to address a number of pending tasks. 

ሓው መንግስተኣብ ኣስመሮም፡ ኣቦ መንበር ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራን (ሰዲህኤ) ሓው ገረዝጊሄር ተወልደ፡ ወኪል ቤት ጽሕፈት ኣቦ መንበር ኣብ ዞባ ሰሜን ኣመሪካን ዝርከብዎ ልኡኽ፡ ብቀዳም ዕለት 15 ሓምለ 2017 ኣብ ከተማ ዊኒፐግ፡ ካናዳ፡ ክፉት ህዝባዊ ኣኼባ ኣካይዶም።

ብቐዳምነት፡ ሓው ናይዝጊ ባህላይ፡ ኣቦ መንበር ጨንፈር ሰዲህኤ ኣብ ዊኒፐግ፡ ንኣኼባ ብዝኽሪ ናይ ሰማእታት ከፊትዎ። ኣስዒቡ ድማ፡ ንኣኼበኛታትን ንመራሕቲ ኣኼባን ናይ እንቋዕ ድሓን መጻእኩምን ናይ ምስጋና መልእኽቲ ኣቕሪቡ። ሓጺር ታሪኽ ህይወት ሓው መንግስተብ ኣስመሮምን ሓው ገረዝጊሄር ተወልደን ድሕሪ ምግላጽ ድማ፡ መድረኽ ንኣቦ መንበር ሰዲህኤ ኣመሓላሊፍዎ።

ሓው መንግስተኣብ ኣስመሮም፡ ንሰዲህኤ ምስ ኣኼበኛታት ድሕሪ ምልላይ፡ ብሰልፊ ዝካየዱ ዓበይቲ ንጥፈታት ሓጺር መግለጺ ኣቕሪቡ። ኣብ ዲፕሎማስያዊ መዳይ፡ ሰዲህኤ፡ መስራቲ ኣባል ናይ’ቲ ልዕሊ 150 ዝዀኑ ሰልፍታት ዝኣባላቱ ገስጋሲ ምሕዝነት ምዃኑ ሓቢሩ። ከምኡ’ውን፡ ምስ መራሕቲ መንግስታትን ሰልፍታትን ዓለም፡ ምስ ኣህጕራዊ ትካላትን ብኣካል ብምርኻብን ብመዘክራትን ኣቢሉ ንሃለዋት ህዝብናን ሃገርናን ምስ ወጻእተኛታት ንምፍላጥ ጽዑቕ ምንቅስቓሳት ከምዝገብር ኣረዲኡ።

ኣብ ማሕበራዊ መዳይ ድማ፡ ነቲ ኣብ ነፍስወከፍ ዓመት ካብ 600-800 ዝዀኑ ህጻናት ኤርትራውያን ስደተኛታት ዝምሃርሉ ቤት ትምህርቲ ወድሸሪፈይ ናይ ምክያድ ምሉእ ሓላፍነት ተሰኪሙ ይጓዓዝ ምህላዉ ኣረዲኡ። ነዚ ሓላፍነት እዚ ምስ ኣሰን ኤርትራዊ ዲሞክራስያዊ ምንቅስቓስ ዝተባህሉ ዘይመንግስታውያን ትካላት ብምትሕብባር ከምዘካይዶ ድማ ገሊጹ። ብተወሳኺ፡ ነዚ ቤት ትምህርቲ’ዚ እግሪ ኣብ ምትካል፡ ሆላንዳውያን ዘይመንግስታውያን ትካላትን ነፍስሄር ኣባ ማሪኖን ምሕዝነት ማሕበራት ቀይሕ መስቀልን ወርሕን ኤርትራን ዝተጻወትዎ ተራ ዘኪሩ።

ኣስዒቡ ብመደብ ናይ ርሑቕ ወላዲ ዝጽዋዕ፡ ንዓቕሚ ዘይብሎም ኤርትራውያን ህጻናት ኣብ መደበራት ስደተኛታት ከምመጕዚት ወይ ወለዲ ኰይኖም ዝሕግዝዎምን ዘምህርዎምን ገበርቲ ሰናይ ዝዀኑ ኤርትራውያን ይኹኑ ወጻእተኛታት ውልቀሰባት ብምውዳድ ዝካየድ ንጥፈታት ከምዘሎ ሓቢሩ።

ብመዳይ ህዝባዊ ዕዮ ድማ፡ ኣብ መላእ ዓለም ተዘርጊሑ ዝርከብ ብደረጃ ጨናፍርን ዞባታትን ዝተሰርዑ ኣባላት ምህላዎምን፡ ኣብ ዜናዊ መዳይ ዝጥቀመሎም መሳለጢታትን ዝጻወትዎ ንህዝቢ ናይ ምጕስጓስን ምጥርናፍን ስርሓት ብዝርዝር ሓቢሩ።

ኣስዒቡ፡ ነቲ ኣብ ከተማታት ኦክላንድ፡ ሳንዲየጎ፡ ቺካጎን ስያትልን ዘቕረቦ ንሓባራዊ ዕዮ ተቓወምቲ ውድባት ኤርትራ ዝምልከት እማመ ብሰፊሑ ንኣኼበኛታት ድሕሪ ምቕራብ፡ ናይ ሕቶን መልስን ርእይቶን ምሃብ መድረኽ ተኸፊቱ።

ሓው መንግስተኣብ ኣስመሮምን ሓው ገረዝጊሄር ተወልደን ድማ ተሓባቢሮም ንዝቐረበሎም ሕቶታት መልስታትን ሂቦምን ካብ ህዝቢ ዝቐረበሎም ለበዋታትን ርእይቶታትን ድማ ሰሚዖም።

ኣኼበኛታት እውን ብዝተዋህቦም መግለጺታት ሕጉሳት ምዃኖም ገሊጾም፤ ከም’ዚ ዝኣመሰለ ኣኼባታት ብቐጻልነት ክካየድ ድማ ተላብዮም።

ብ13 ሓምለ 2017 ከኣ ሓው መንግስተኣብ ኣስመሮምን ሓው ገረዝጊሄር ተወልደን፡ ኣብ ከተማ ሳስካቱን ዝርከቡ ግዱሳት ኤርትራውያን ተራኺቦም፡ ብዛዕባ ሃለዋት ህዝብናን ደምበ ተቓውሞናን ዓሚቝን ጠቓምን ዝዀነ ምይይጣት ኣካይዶም ኢዮም።

ሰንበት 9 ሓምለ 2017 ኣቦ መንበር ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ሓው መንግስተኣብ  ኣስመሮም ሓፈሻዊ ኣኼባ ኣባላት ሰልፊ ሰሜን ኣሜሪካ  ብቴለ-ኮንፈረንስ ኣካይዱ። ኣብ’ዚ ኣኼባ’ዚ ቀዳም 8 ሓምለ ኣብ ስያትል ዘካየዶ ዕዉት ናይ ህዝቢ ኣኼባ ድሕሪ ምግላጽ፡ ሓፈሻዊ ኩነታት ሰልፊ ብዝርዝር ኣብሪሁ።

ኣብ ዞባ ሰሜን ኣሜሪካ ተበጺሑ ዘሎ ምዕብልናታት ብዘርዝር ድሕሪ ምብራህ  ምቛም ናይ ትሽዓተ ዝኣባላታ ናብ ህጹጹ ጉባኤ ዞባ  እተብጽሕ ሽማግለ ሓቢሩ። ካብ ኣባላት ንዝቐረበሉ ሕቶታት ንጹርን ኣዕጋቢን መልስታት ሂቡሉ።

ኣስናዳኢት ሽማግለ ብወገና ሰኑይ 10 ሓምለ ፈላሚ ኣኼባኣ ብምክያድ ነብሳ ኣብ ሰለስተ ሽማግለታት ብኸምዚ ዝስዕብ ሰሪዓ።  

1)    ናይ ዉደባን ጎሽጓሽን

2)   ናይ ዜናን ዲፕሎማሲን

3)   ናይ ማሕበራውን ቁጠባውን

ንኡሳን ሽማግለታት ኣሰናዳኢት ሽማግለ ዞባ ሰሜን ኣመሪካ ንምድንፋዕን ተራኡ ንምዕዛዝን ኣብ ስራሕ ተዋፊረን ይርከባ።

في الفاتح من يوليو 2017م عقد الأخ/ منقستئاب أسمروم رئيس حزب الشعب الديمقراطي الارتري اجتماعاً جماهيرياً مفتوحاً بمدينة شيكاغو الامريكية. هذا وقد افتتح الاجتماع بتحية الشهداء بالوقوف دقيقة حداداً علي أرواحهم.

بعد ذلك صعد المنصة السيد/ تولدي محاري من فرع إنديانا وألقى كلمة ترحيب وتهنئة حارة بالحضور، ثم دعا الرئيس لمخاطبة الاجتماع.

تناول أسمروم مشروع الحزب للحوار مع وبين فصائل معسكر المعارضة الارترية كموضوع رئيسي للاجتماع، والي جانبه إحدى القضايا المثيرة للجدل في الأوساط المحلية والاقليمية والدولية، ألا وهي مصطلح الدولة/ state/ كمدخل للموضوع الرئيسي للاجتماع.

أوضح الرئيس أنه بما أن الوطن والدولة أو الحكم(state and government) أمران منفصلان عن بعضهما فإن معارضة أو مقاومة الدولة أو الحكومة لا تعني معارضة أو مقاومة الوطن. ثم ذكر أن للدولة 4 أركان مكونة هي الآتي:

1-    الحكومة

2-    الشعب

3-    الأرض

4-    الاعتراف الدولي

1/ الحكومة:ـ

أوضح اسمروم بالتفصيل أن أركان الحكم كلها في ارتريا اليوم من سلطات ثلاثة (التشريعية، التنفيذية، القضائية) وغيرها من أركان وأدوات السلطة تتركز بشكل كامل في يد رجل واحد هو رئيس تلك الحكومة.

2/ الشعب:ـ

شرح اسمروم بالتفصيل أيضاً أن الشعب الارتري اليوم وفي ظل هذه الحكومة المتجبرة يفتقد كل الحريات والحقوق الأساسية معنويةً كانت أو مادية. هذا فضلاً عن التفكك الأسري والهجرة التي يشجع عليها النظام بالتضييق علي المواطن بالداخل لكي يحصل علي ريع تحويلات المهاجرين. 

3/ الأرض:ـ

عن الأرض الارترية قال اسمروم: إن سياسات النظام الرعناء أدت الي وقوع أجزاء عزيزة وعديدة من الوطن تحت سيطرة اثيوبيا، بالإضافة الي أن عدم قدرة النظام علي استرداد تلك الأجزاء بالسلم أو الحرب عرض سيادة ارتريا الوطنية علي أراضيها لخطر بالغ. أضف الي ذلك أنه جعل من الأرض والمياه والأجواء الارترية مسرحاً تسرح وتمرح فيه القوى الأجنبية مما سيصعب معه التعامل مع مخلفات وآثار هذه السياسات الخبيثة مستقبلاً.    

4/ الاعتراف الدولي:ـ

قال اسمروم: إنه وإن نال الشعب الارتري الاعتراف الدولي بالدولة الارترية بعزيمته النضالية الصلبة وبالتصويت بنعم للاستقلال وإن كان ذلك الاعتراف ما يزال قائماً، إلا أن سياسات وتصرفات النظام الهوجاء تعتبر مهدداً قوياُ قد يؤدي الي فقدان هذه الميزة. 

من جهةٍ أخرى أوضح اسمروم أن حزبنا جـِــدُّ قلق علي مستقبل البلاد لما تتعرض له علي يد النظام من وقوف علي شفا التحول الي دولة فاشلة بالإضافة لوجود المعارضة التي هي المنقذ المرتجى من هذا المصير المظلم في أضعف حالاتها.

منطلقاً مما تقدم شرحه قال الرئيس: إن هذه الحالة المزرية التي تمر بها البلاد تجعل من تناسي المعارضة خلافاتها والجلوس علي مائدة الحوار البناء مطلباً عاجلاً غير آجل. كما نبه الي ضرورة تلافي التجارب الوحدوية والحوارية الفاشلة التي سادتها الأنانية وتغليب المصالح الفئوية والشخصية فضلاً عن الفشل في تحديد وترتيب الأولويات.

ولتنفيذ هذا المطلب العاجل أفاد اسمروم الحضور بأن حزبنا لديه مشروع حوار جاد بين كافة مكونات المعارضة السياسية والمدنية يستند علي العمل المشترك في 3 مجالات، هي المجال الدبلوماسي، الاعلامي والجماهيري التعبوي.علي أن تهدف الحوارات الي الآتي:

1-    الحفاظ علي السيادة الوطنية لارتريا

2-    إسقاط نظام الهقدف الدكتاتوري وحل واجتثاث مؤسساته وأدواته القمعية

3-    إبدال النظام الدكتاتوري بنظام شعبي ديمقراطي قائم علي التعددية السياسية.

4-    الإقرار بحكم القانون والحقوق الديمقراطية والحريات الكاملة للشعب.

في ختام الاجتماع ردَّ الرئيس علي أسئلة وتعليقات الحضور، والذين أشادوا بمشروع الحزب للحوار بين قوى المعارضة مقدِّمين في الوقت ذاته إشادة خاصة بحزب الشعب الديمقراطي الارتري لتفرده من بين سائر التنظيمات الارترية بالاهتمام الخاص بعقد الاجتماعات المفتوحة بمدينة شيكاغو.

شارك حزب الشعب الديمقراطي الارتريفي المؤتمر الخاص للحزب الاشتراكي الديمقراطي الألمانيالمنعقد في الخامس والعشرين من يونيو 2017م بمدينة درتموند، يذكر أن هذا الحزب يتمتع بسند جماهيري كبير في انتخابات منصب المستشار الألماني والمزمع إجراؤها في الرابع والعشرين من سبتمبر 2017م.

السيدة/ آديام تفرا عضو المجلس المركزي لحزبنا والناشطة في مجال حقوق المرأة ترأست وفد حزبنا الي مؤتمر ذلك الحزب، هذا وقد حمل الوفد رسالة خطية من رئيس حزبنا الي رئيس الحزب الألماني الصديق.     

تقول الرسالة: سعيدون جداً بأن يتكلل مؤتمركم بالنجاح كما نخبركم أن قضيتنا وطرحنا لحلول قضايا الانسانية يشتركان في كل الأهداف والمبادئ الإنسانية النبيلة.

كما ذكرت الرسالة أن حزبنا أحد مؤسسي التحالف الأممي للأحزاب التقدمية والذي استضاف مؤتمره التأسيسي هذا الحزب بمدينة لايبزغ الألمانية في 2013م. هذا فضلاً عن مشاركة الحزب في المؤتمر السابق للحزب الألماني، كما شارك حزبنا قبل 4 أعوام في إحياء الذكرى ال 150 لتأسيس الحزب الاشتراكي الديمقراطي الألماني.

وأضاف الرئيس: إننا نشيد بالدور الانساني الرائد لحزبكم في دعم دعاة السلم والديمقراطية في بلادنا من تنظيمات ومنظمات سياسية ومدنية تنشط في الخارج.

في ختام رسالته يقول الرئيس: إن الارتريين المتمتعين بحق الانتخاب في المانيا سوف يحشدون كل جهودهم لمساندة الحزب الألماني الصديق.  

شارك في المؤتمر 600 عضو وخمسة آلاف " 5.000" وفد وضيف، وفي خطابه للمؤتمر قال رئيس الحزب السيد/ مارتين شولتز مرشح الحزب لمنصب المستشار، إنهم يهدفون في برنامجهم الانتخابي الي مجانية التعليم، تخفيض الضرائب، الإنتاج الألماني المتوسط، الاستثمار في البنية التحتية، تأييد الوحدة 

On Saturday, 8 July 2017, Menghesteab Asmerom, Chairman of the Eritrean People's Democratic Party (EPDP) held a well-attended public meeting in Seattle, Washington State, at which the currently fragmented situation of the Eritrean opposition camp was hotly and widely debated.

At opening the meeting, Mr. Zemehret Seare, member of the EPDP Seattle branch and the party's Foreign Office Committee Coordinator in North America warmly welcomed  meeting participants and made an interesting presentation supported by power-point display on latest major EPDP activities in the diplomatic sphere. 

 Mr. Menghesteab Asmerom then took the podium to make his wide-ranging remarks that focused on the 4 June 2017 proposal of his party calling upon sister organizations and movements for dialogue aiming to create a working formula for joint work. His talking points were the ones he used at public meetings in the Bay Area, in San Diego and in Chicago.

Following his summary presentation of EPDP's proposal for joint work (for ease of reference, see full text below), the meeting participants voiced timely concerns regarding the delay to remove the evil regime in Asmara and hoped the current proposal for joint work in the spheres of information, public mobilization and diplomacy will see the light of the day.

EPDP Proposal for Joint Work  of the Eritrean Opposition Camp:

In the past 26 years of Eritrea's independent existence, our people have faced multiple harmful challenges threatening the very existence of the nation. It is indisputable that the primary culprit and source of Eritrea's tribulations has been the autocratic PFDJ regime, misnamed the 'People's Front for Democracy and Justice'. However, putting all the blame on the regime does not help in making a national soul-searching and addressing one's own shortcomings in a proper manner. It is time to admit that the failure of the Eritrean opposition camp to play an effective role contributed in the suffering and displacement of the Eritrean people; the opposition camp - the camp of change and justice seekers - so far did very little to shorten the days of absolute  dictatorship in the country.

Nevertheless, one of the positive aspects not to be sidelined is the fact that the opposition camp was able to continue making efforts, albeit limited, in confronting the multiple abuses of the repressive PFDJ regime. The efforts exerted to resolve existing problems and, in particular, the attempts made towards creating coalitions and mergers were equally positive. In our past attempts to create alliances and strengthen the opposition camp, we did reach common understanding on a number of fundamental principles that bind us all. As such, the four principles listed below appear in various documents of the Eritrean camp of change seekers. Those points of common understanding can be taken now as  the basic principles for the joint work proposal being initiated for further deliberations. They are:

1. Protecting Eritrea's territorial sovereignty;
2. Removing the autocratic  PFDJ regime with its organs of repression;
3. Installing a democratic multiparty system of participatory governance;
4. Submitting to rule of law and guaranteeing basic liberties and democratic rights.

As noted, although our past experiences had some positive aspects, yet we could not create an inclusive national body or umbrella. A new start will require our commitment to never let our existing organizations or alignments to hinder the creation of a working relationship for  more effective common action.

The urgency of the present situation obliges us to come out of our boxes. In simple terms, it is time to create a body/umbrella coalescing all forces currently in or outside existing alliances. Only to stress the evident truth, we are called upon to use learned lessons of the past and build a more effective body able to challenge the  abusive  regime in Eritrea.

The alignments we created and tried to work with were, till the present time, adversely affected by a spirit of controversy and rivalry.  This is because we created an unsustainable  situation  in which priorities were not put in order.  

For now, our most immediate task should be the removal of the autocratic regime. In past, instead of concentrating all efforts on this task, we put ourselves in a vicious circle by mixing up short-term objective with long-term objectives that cannot be attained now. And no wonder that, in a situation of controversy and with un-prioritized objectives, the  structures we worked out and the programmes we adopted could not be implemented. If we continue on that path, we will only guarantee long life for the autocratic regime and fail to address the problems of our people.

Therefore, the Eritrean People's Democratic Party (EPDP) finds it timely to call upon all fraternal forces and fellow citizens opposed to the PFDJ regime to join us in trying to come out of the old vicious circle we are in and jointly start a new path that can lead to victory of the people's cause. Based on the understanding that unjustifiable controversies and  mixing up of priorities can lead us nowhere, the EPDP is now presenting this proposal for joint work that should include all concerned, and pledges to do its utmost to promote the agreed upon tasks. 

Needless to say, the primary agenda for the proposed common body or umbrella is the removal of the autocratic regime. All forces coalescing for this agenda shall be expected to do what they can to carry on the new joint body. The measure and weight of each member in the common umbrella shall be its degree of contribution in implementing the joint  tasks.

The existing alliances and parties shall be the building blocks  of the common umbrella  and shall in no way hinder the proper functioning of joint tasks. Therefore, this is a call for starting a serious dialogue among all fraternal forces, a process that should lead to  timely  formation of an effective body  embracing all stakeholders in the struggle.

The common umbrella or body to be formed shall primarily aspire to achieve the following three major tasks:

1. A Joint Foreign Delegation

Our individual efforts in the diplomatic sphere have not been effective. All parties  (governments, organizations, parties) we individually approach have been advising us to meet them as one Eritrean delegation. There is no doubt that a joint/representative Eritrean delegation will make our diplomatic work more effective. Existing Eritrean organizations or parties shall not be obliged to end their ongoing relations in this sphere. But they are  expected to strengthen the work of the joint Eritrean opposition delegation. Although details can be worked out in due course of time, the delegation can consist of members from the Eritrean organizations as well as expert diplomats from outside those member organizations. The joint delegation will be able to represent the Eritrean opposition camp at international conferences and speak/write on its behalf in addition to seeking all-round assistance (political, moral and material) for the umbrella. While working under the umbrella leadership, the foreign delegation can be empowered to take various initiatives as it sees them appropriate.

2. A Common Media Centre

Having a centralized information organ representing the opposition camp is an urgent necessity in light of the fact that our fragmented media outlets are not accomplishing the intended objective. The central information organ, which shall not hinder the member organization from continuing to run their own media outlets, can be staffed by members and media experts from outside the working common umbrella.

 3.  an Organ for Mass Mobilization

This organ shall endeavour to mobilize the people around the opposition camp by reviving the central task of political organizations in educating and organizing participants in the struggle for change. We must acknowledge the fact that mobilization efforts have been initiated at grassroots level in several places by Eritrean activists. However, these commendable initiatives could not be spared from the Eritrean malaise of controversy and negative rivalry. We in the opposition (camp of change and justice seekers) continually resort to unnecessary contention and squabbles instead of cooperating to promote the same national objective. It is appropriate to make self-criticism on this negative attitude, while at the same time bestowing high gratitude and admiration upon those compatriots who are taking initiatives at organizing justice seekers around local councils (baitos) at district and city levels. These efforts must be encouraged at all places around the globe. Eventually, people organized at grassroots level could join their efforts with political and civic organizations and help in drawing clear action plans in removing the repressive regime. The central organ for mass mobilization can be composed by representatives of political organizations and work under the common umbrella. However, it can also closely work in cooperation with the local popular councils/baitos all over the world.

The proposed national umbrella can start with the above listed three objectives but gradually expand its work activities, as needed. Only to reiterate, the EPDP hereby commits itself to start immediate dialogue and work with any Eritrean body accepting this proposal towards forming a joint body/umbrella for joint action.  No Alternative to Joint Action to Remove the Autocratic Regime!!
