According to Mr. Zehaie Keleta, one of the active members of the organizer association, the seminar greatly benefited from the presentation made by Ms Lena Russell, a human rights activist with 40 years of experience in family reunion and refugee rights.
As of late, Eritreans refugees in Sweden have been facing problems related to family reunion and their asylum requests. Ms Lena Russell informed the meeting participants that these cases have been contested by five groups of prominent human rights advocacies in Sweden and that the case will be reviewed at the supreme court in Sweden within the current month and can most probably obtain a positive decision.
At the end of a two-hour discussion of the asylum issues, Eritreans wished to remain behind at the meeting hall and discussed a common strategy to pursue their struggle for the basic refugee rights in the country of their asylum.
