EPDP Branch in the Bay Area Participated in Bologna 2014 Conference

On Sunday August 10, 2014 EPDP Bay Area participated in a Bologna 2014 Conference hosted by EYSC local chapter. The agenda was to discuss core topics of the upcoming Bologna 2014 Conference. Mr. Solomon Assefaw presented the topics of Bologna 2014 in detail. Participants discussed the topics and specifically on the area of Eritrean issue by Eritreans concept, change from inside Eritrea, concept of non-violent means of struggle, building alliance with people who has the same vision and value, and mass mobilization.

EPDP members were given a chance to present the non-violent means of resistance. In the presentation the audience were reminded that one cannot maintain democratic culture without accepting in principle the non-violent means of resistance. They were also reminded that harboring violent culture is the characteristics of a dictatorship. It was clearly explained that non-violent means of struggle is the corner stone of a democratic culture.

In conclusion, the conference was very successful. The participants gave feedbacks and recommendations to EYSC representatives to submit it to the Bologna 2014 Conference in Italy.
