Nairobi Ad-Hoc Committee Held First Meeting in The Bay Area

Nairobi Ad Hoc Committee held its first meeting in the Bay Area on Saturday January 30, 2016. Haw Tesfai Woldemichael (Degiga) chair the meeting. Accompanying haw Degiga at the podium were haw Romodan Salih (Ginbar Dhnet) and haw Woldu Netsereab (Sagm).

Haw Degiga eloquently explained the genesis of the Nairobi Conference. He explained Mdrek invited 18 opposition organization and only eleven organization could attend. In detail he articulated the objective of the conference. The main objective of the conference was to bring all opposition groups; political organizations, civic societies, youth movements, human right activists, media, and religious organizations into a roundtable platform. Haw Degiga said the Ad Hoc Committee will work tirelessly to make the objective come true in the second consultative conference.

After the presentation of haw Degiga, the meeting was opened for questions and answers. Questions like; can Mdrek be trusted? Is Nairobi conference replacing Baito? Why is assena.com campaigning against the conference? Doctor Asefaw joined in the podium to answer specific question that pertains to Mdrek. Degiga in detail answer the questions patiently, and the audience were very pleased by the answers given. Both Romodan and Woldu also gave supportive answers to Degiga. Discussions were very civil and carried with respect.

In conclusion, the attendees express their unwavering support to the objective of Nairobi conference and committed to work with the Ad Hoc Committee. One can say the meeting was very successful by all measures.
