EPDP Central Council Elects Party Executive Committee for One-Year Term

The newly elected Central Council of the Eritrean People’s Democratic Party (EPDP), which is currently conducting consecutive sessions of its first regular meeting since its election in the recently held second party congress, on 23 August adopted in a democratic manner the list of candidates for the executive offices as presented by the chairman, Mr. Menghesteab Asmerom.
The newly elected executive committee members are, in alphabetical order: Alem Yohannes, Debessai Beyene, Eritra Alazar (Ms), Medhanie Habtezghi, Rezene Tesfazion, Tesfai Woldemichael (Degiga) and Woldeyesus Ammar. Also elected as Auditor General on Sunday was Tedros Fessehaye, a senior party member residing in sub-Saharan Africa.
The EPDP Central Council, consisting of 33 voting members and four reserve members who also take part in the CC meetings, are expected to continue debating several agenda items in the coming weeks.
The rest of the EPDP leadership members are: Adiam Tefera (Ms), Aklilu Ghirmai/Dr., Ali Dinai, Alganesh Isaac (Ms), Amanuel Beraki, Assefaw Berhe, Dirar Mantai, Kubrom Grenet, Fessehaye Hagos, Feven Ghideon (Ms), Gherghis Negash (Ms), Ghirmai G.Temesgen (Keshi), Habtemichael Tekle/Dr, Haile Ghebru, Idris Ismail, Ismail Nada, Issa Mohammed, Mesfin Hagos, Mohammed Adem Artaa, Mohammed Asselo, Negasi Hamde, Neguse Tseggai, Tekle Melekin, Yassin Abrahim and Yohannes Mesghina. Reserve members are: Haile Woldu, Tuku Tesfai, Abdulkader Hibtes, and Haileyesus Ghebrai.
